Adrian Peterson was under investigation on an injury to a child charge, according to Montgomery County Sheriff Brady Fitzgerald.

adrian-petersonHOUSTON – NFL Star Adrian Peterson has been indicted for

injury to a child by a Montgomery County grand jury.

Peterson had been under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office for punishing his son with a switch, attorney Rusty Hardin confirms.

Brett Ligon, the Montgomery County District Attorney, spoke with HPD chief Charles McClelland and has requested he launch a criminal investigation into who leaked the full police report and photos of the minor child victim. Ligon has also requested the Texas Rangers assist in that investigation.

"As vigorously as we investigate and prosecute child abuse cases,we will use the same zeal to find who is releasing information on the minor child," said Ligon.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Peterson is expected to surrender and post bond, but the timing for that is unclear.

Extreme Couponing Goes Digital

Couponing ain't what it used to be.  Sure, papers still have many coupons, but a new trend is emerging in the digital age.

Digital coupons are a rapidly growing force that will likely take over as the primary distribution method for coupons in the next 5-10 years. Companies like General Mills say they’re moving more of their coupon budget toward digital coupons and away from Sunday papers. Digital coupons boast higher redemption rates and often cost less to distribute.

Printable Coupons: The most prominent digital coupons are those that you can print right from home. In addition to top online printable coupon distribution sites like coupons.com, smartsource.com and redplum.com.

eCoupons: Otherwise known as Save-To-Card Coupons are loaded directly from the web to your store loyalty card. When you purchase the designated items and use your loyalty card or phone number associated with that card at checkout, the savings will automatically be deducted from your total!

Mobile Coupons: Otherwise known as Show-and-Save Coupons. This niche is still small, but will certainly be growing as applications for iPhone and Droid continue to develop. So far the flagship for Show-and-Save digital coupons is Target.

Today’s smart coupon shopper is younger, richer, more educated and better looking than the coupon shoppers of the last two decades! Okay, okay, so maybe the better looking thing is just my opinion, plus nobody looked good in the eighties, but you get the idea. The stigma surrounding coupon use is lifting, and it’s becoming chic to clip coupons and more fun than ever to get stuff from the grocery store for absolutely Free!

July 4th Weekend Travel Down in 2011

july-4th-2011-drivingGas prices are currently dropping but travel costs are still expected to drive down the number of Americans who will hit the road for the July 4th weekend, according to information released by AAA this week.

In California, The Auto Club report, released Monday, found that 2.9 million Southern Californians expected to travel over the weekend, a 2.3% drop from the 2010 July 4th weekend.

Last year though, July 4th weekend last year had the biggest one-year jump in holiday travelers in the last 10 years.  A jump of 38.6% over 2009.

The same is expected for all travelers in the United States.

"High gas prices this spring have started to impact travel, but the good news for consumers is that gas prices are continuing to drop," said Auto Club spokeswoman Filomena Andre.
