Arcade Fire tickets Hyde park 2011 UK Show on sale now

Arcade FireThe twice Grammy nominated Arcade Fire have confirmed they will be playing at London's Hyde Park this summer. After landing on the cover of Q Magazine, snagging four nominations in the UK for NME magazine's Shockwave Awards—Best Album, Best International Band, Best Live Band, and Best Video—and having received nods from the Brit Awards, the eclectic Canadian indie-rock darlings seemingly have no choice to put on a show for their myriad and loyal English fans.

Since shaking up the music scene in 2004 with their first full-length release, Funeral, Arcade Fire has been consistently popular the world over. The band's latest album, The Suburbs, was a smash hit not only with United Kingdom listeners, but all over the globe, hitting the #1 spot on several international sales charts, and finding its way to upper portions—if not the very top—of many year end lists, including BBC 6 Music's Top 50 Albums of the Year, Clash Magazine's Top 40 Albums of 2010, and Billboard's Top 10 Albums of 2010.

Tickets for the musical event are on sale as of January 29, with the concert taking place June 30. Arcade Fire will be headlining with Mumford and Sons, The Vaccines, and Beirut supporting.

Take That Named U.K.’s Most Popular Live Act

Take-That-RobbieTake That, the reformed pop group, has taken 2010 as their own after being named the United Kingdom’s most popular act, kicking Lady Gaga and the band Kings of Leon out of the fought-for position.

Take That, who recently reunited with group member Robbie Williams, has dominated the British album chart with their latest album "Progress" ever since it was released in November of last year. 235,000 copies of Progress were sold in one day and 520,000 the first week, with the single “The Flood” making a major splash in the British music industry.

Kings of Leon and their hit single "Sex on Fire" found themselves shoved into second place with the band JLS behind them. Lady Gage and Michael Buble were given forth and fifth place. Featured in the top ten were Bon Jovi, the Black Eyed Peas, and Muse.

Take That began releasing albums and dominating music charts in 1990; Robbie Williams left the band in 1995 but, after 15 years, decided to return in July of 2010. Progress, the first album to feature Williams since his returns, has remained on the number one spot for six consecutive weeks in the U.K. and has gained wide recognition across the world.

Nun’s Honus Wagner Card at Heritage Auction Galleries

honus-wagnerSister Virginia Muller didn't think a simple little card with some "goofy" Honus Wagner guy would be worth anything.

Because of a special donation, this "goofy" card, one of the oldest in the last 100 years, would belong to Muller and here order, the Baltimore-based School Sisters of Notre Dame. The baseball great is a treasured among collectors, and the happens to be the most sought-after baseball card in history.

The Roman Catholic nuns are auctioning off the card, which despite its poor condition is expected to fetch between $150,000 and $200,000. The proceeds will go to their ministries in 35 countries around the world.  Heritage Auction Galleries will conduct the auction.

The card is part of the T206 series, produced between 1909 and 1911. About 60 Wagner cards are known to exist.

It just boggles your mind," Muller told The Associated Press. "I can't remember a time when we have received anything like this."
