Foo Fighters Tickets Wembley 2011 NME Awards On Sale Today

Foo FightersOne of the US pioneers of alternative rock, the Seattle born Foo Fighters will be appearing at the NME Awards on February 25th at Wembley Arena.

The band has a new album coming out this spring and expectations are high that several songs will be premiered at the event. The new album is promised to be "full on" heavy by frontman David Grohl in an interview with BBC radio last fall. "In the 14 songs, there's not one acoustic guitar — there's not even one in the house," he said.

Other acts include Cee Lo Green, Band of Horses and No Age.

Band of Horses drummer Creighton Barrett told NME Radio that they are hoping to perform with Cee Lo Green. On Cee Lo Green's last album, 'The Lady Killer', they did a cover of Band of Horses' 2008 song 'No One's Gonna Love You'.

Tickets for the NME Awards are now on sale. Also available are tickets for the Foo Fighters summer appearance at Milton Keynes Bowl on July 2nd and 3rd. Opening acts for that event will be Death Cab For Cutie and Tame Impala on July 2 and Jimmy Eat World and The Hot Rats on July 3. Biffy Clyro will be supporting both nights.
